I ART FRAZER IRVING

Doodles, scribbles and misc art stuff from Frazer Irving, International Comicbook Rockstar.
Over the past few months I’ve been enthusing about this series of covers I’ve been drawing for Boom! publishing, for a comic series called “Higher Earth”. 9 of these little buggers have been birthed in the magic space between my mind and the screen of my Cintiq 21UX (2010 model, art nerds) and it is with great personal sadness that I have to say that 9 is all you’ll get.
Whatever story they were telling has wound to an end, as has my association with these engaging little characters. Of course, the rest of the series still has to play out until January, and not even I am privy to what details lie within those pages, but my personal involvement in terms of bringing fictional people to life on the front of the comic is neatly concluded with the image above.
Art people may notice that the colour scheme of the first and last issue are in fact inverted pretty much, part of my brilliant plan to subtly imply theme and tone with colours. In fact, each cover is colour coded to a certain degree, but that code will remain a secret tho feel free to invent yer own theories.
I’ve enjoyed toying with the lives of these 2 plucky characters, and one day I will draw them again, possibly sitting on rickety old wooden chairs in “Little House On The Prairie” world, having escaped the hustle and bustle of interdimensional domination, Him sucking on a pipe of some local vegetation, and Her bossing the entire town around like her own personal minions, whilst hunting wild beasts with a hacksaw.
Maybe. Or there’s that swimming pool scene I was going to offer up for isse 5 before I realised I might get fired for submitting an idea so suggestively erotic, or perhaps that image of the coronation, the one that referenced all that secret illuminati stuff and answered the great question of life. Hmmm, well, we’ll see. If it happens, it happens on my own time, and there ain’t much of that available at the moment.
Rex, Heidi, it’s been real. x
